The Cubby Hole could be a really great gay dive bar with investment in infrastructure, better theming/promotion, regular cleaning and dealing with the extreme smoke. Drinking and smoking with patrons and staff doesn't count. Management/owners do very little to support the business or their employees. There's nothing engaging needs more porn, strippers, music videos, wrestling, nakedness, etc. Interior is a hodgepodge of flea market finds and filth on top of filth.
Local semi homeless and hustlers hang out without drinking annoying and sometimes aggressive. The Barcardi I order that is poured from a Barcardi bottle is many times something else? I've been around smokers my entire life the air quality at Cubby is borderline in-human! Drinks are cheap and the bartenders are fun/casual and hardworking but that's about it. Completed in 1952 the Marlin Beach was the jewel of the Beach’s hotels.
We're locals and really like the concept of a hole in the wall, dark, cruisy little bar.
