The Cubby Hole could be a really great gay dive bar with investment in infrastructure, better theming/promotion, regular cleaning and dealing with the extreme smoke. Drinking and smoking with patrons and staff doesn't count. Management/owners do very little to support the business or their employees. There's nothing engaging needs more porn, strippers, music videos, wrestling, nakedness, etc. Interior is a hodgepodge of flea market finds and filth on top of filth.
Local semi homeless and hustlers hang out without drinking annoying and sometimes aggressive. The Barcardi I order that is poured from a Barcardi bottle is many times something else? I've been around smokers my entire life the air quality at Cubby is borderline in-human! Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks, the newly renovated bar offers daily happy hour 2-for-1 drinks along with nightly drink specials. The PUB is known for its live entertainment and performances including local DJ’s, VJ’s and internationally known performers, drag queens. Their environment has declined to where many times we walk out without ordering a drink? Gay bar & restaurant in Fort Lauderdale’s Wilton Manors. Just across AIA from the (the place where Beach Place is today) it had over 105 rooms, a stage and dance area two restaurants, and a courtyard with a large pool One of the restaurants was downstairs and had a large aquarium type window onto the pool, allowing diners to enjoy their meals while watching the goings-on under. Drinks are cheap and the bartenders are fun/casual and hardworking but that's about it. Completed in 1952 the Marlin Beach was the jewel of the Beach’s hotels.
We're locals and really like the concept of a hole in the wall, dark, cruisy little bar.
